Earl appeared in <i>A Bout With Sprout (EP132)</i>, where he, like in the games, was revealed to host his own Pokémon Academy in Violet City. When Ash and his friends entered the school, Earl danced around while wearing a tutu, much to the embarrassment of the group. However, upon learning that Miss Priscilla loved dancing people, Brock joined in and wore a tutu as well. Later, Earl jumped in the way of Brock's flirting with Miss Priscilla, offering him a chance to stay at the academy, but Brock declined the offer.
