故事主要描述神奈川縣川崎市展開的英雄和怪人之間的衝突和合作。作為英雄的桑雷德沒有工作，要靠女朋友養活，脾氣也不好，偶爾去找工作也是以失敗告終。而怪人們卻常常能找到工作，對於和同事交往，參加社區活動和保護環境也很熱心，甚至連發動作戰都以不給人添麻煩為前提。比較起來，怪人們對社會的適應性比英雄更高。
