人們幾百年來，靠這挖掘的洞穴之中建造家園。而在一個叫吉哈的地中村裡，有一位擅長挖洞的少年 西蒙在偶然的機會下找到了閃耀著光芒的小鑽子「核心之鑽」，並在之後發現一張有著巨大的臉的東西；而當他仰慕的大哥卡米那一直堅持有「地面」的存在，在要突破阻礙前往地面之際時，村的頂棚突然崩塌，從天上的裂口掉下來巨大的機器人和持著超電導步槍的少女優子。 在混亂中，西蒙將核心之鑽插入了巨大的臉，巨大的臉同時變成了有著一頭身機器人。靠這突破土表的方式打倒敵人，同時也飛出了地面。在眼前的廣大的地上的風景使少年們被打動，變而決定在地面上旅行；同時也一路上的夥伴組成「大紅蓮團」和侵佔地上的獸人們展開戰爭。
