James criticized him for using such a Pokémon for a PokéRinger competition. However, when an updraft hit the two Pokémon, Yanmega was left disoriented and fell to the ground. As for Skiploom, it benefited from the updraft; it easily grabbed the ring from the balloon and brought it to the goal, earning Steveland the win.
