The mayor of a small town is a character of the day who appeared in <i>Wake Up Snorlax!</i>. After Ash and his friends entered the town looking for food, the mayor took them in and provided them with a meal. As they were eating, the mayor explained the town's river had gone dry, and they didn't have any food as a result. Ash and the others decided to investigate, and they found a Snorlax had fallen asleep and was blocking the water from filling the river.
