Tan-San, also know as Dansan or Tang-Sang, is a battery-type Robopon developed by Dr. Spollo before Robomaru. He is like Robomaru's older brother, and can temporarily evolve into "Tan-Ni" using a capsule called "Energy Ball Evolution". In addition, there is a large transport robot named "Tan-Ichi" jointly developed by Spollo and Dr. Head, and it is powered by Tan-Ni when fully charged. Tan-San refuses to formally evolve into his Tan-Ni and Tan-Ichi forms because, according to him, it takes too much energy and he becomes violent, so he prefers to remain in his normal form. Tan-San appears to enjoy traveling and camping, and his behavior upon reuniting with Musashi suggests that he has been traveling for over two years before the main story begins.
