Tsuwabuki is a lion-dog and the illegitimate child of the patriarch of the wolf clan, and a lion-dog woman. After she passes away, he is brought into the wolf clan's house as a servant and has to suffer demeaning treatment from both the family and the other servants. He has brought offerings in earnest to Shuro's shrine and has met him several times throughout the years but, even after Shuro deems him fit to be his bride, Tsuwabuki still has doubts that he isn't good enough.
