A gentleman and scientist who seeks the "method that leads to immortality" that said to exist in the city of Reviva, the Eternal Water. He has a pompous personality and is always reveling in his knowledge. In his final confrontation with Jing, Pernod and his servant, China Lilet, are both trapped in a mechanism he created to defeat Jing, and whenever he tries to free himself, he will receive perpetual tickles from China Lilet who is unconscious and being manipulated by a broken controller.
