Reiji works for the Death Sweepers company. While he isn't rude, he tends to speak frankly and doesn't try to obscure the truth, but is still considerate of the relatives of the deceased. He approaches most jobs with a detached demeanor and chastises Hiroyuki for any inappropriate emotional outbursts. He is paired up with Hiroyuki and walks him through what needs to be done for every job. When asked by Hiroyuki, Reiji replies that he chose this job because he feels like he is helping the dead and learning from them at the same time. He has a cat named Chibi and, while he doesn't seem to be affected by seeing the bodies of deceased people, animal deaths are difficult for him to handle.
