Maruu is a blind man in his twenties who lives in a temple at the base of a mountain. He pities Rakamu and, when they eventually meet, decides to risk his own life in order to free him. As thanks, Rakamu gives Maruu two of his own eyes, granting him the ability to see. After his death, Maruu is reincarnated thousands of years later as <a href="https://myanimelist.net/character/134844/Maruo" rel="nofollow">Maruo</a>.
