In his search to create a new manga, he noticed the innovative drawings of Kazuhiko Kato and Tadashi Yoshimoto and launched "Weekly Manga Action," the first weekly youth manga magazine in Japan. He's also the godfather of the pen names "Monkey Punch" for Kato and "Baron Yoshimoto" for Yoshimoto.
