Akajita is a youkai who has had his eyes on Nanao since she was a child. He disguises himself as a little boy to search for Nanao, aiming to consume her lifeforce so that he doesn't disappear. After Yatoh purifies him and he no longer poses any danger to Nanao, Akajita moves in with Yatoh to better guard Nanao.
